Apply To Serve On ‘Ageing Well Committee’
The Ministry of Social Development and Seniors said they “would like to invite the public to express an interest in becoming a member of the Ageing Well Committee.”
A spokesperson said, “The Ageing Well Committee is an advisory board that focuses on recommendations for an ageing demographic, including areas of best practice, policies, procedures, and services.
“The committee will be comprised of a maximum of fourteen [14] members, inclusive of the Chairman, appointed by the Minister of Social Development and Seniors, the Hon. Tinee Furbert, JP, MP.”
“The Ageing Well Committee will advise on matters such as:
- Enhancing the quality of life for seniors
- Comprehensive planning and accountability
- Strategic workforce development, education, employment, and financial security for older adults and caregiver
- Healthy ageing
- Ageing at home
- Accessible transportation
- Long-term care
- Intergenerational and inclusive communities
Minister Furbert shared, “Bermuda’s foundation is a result of the passion, sacrifice, and love of our seniors. Their accomplishments, dedication, and experiences are truly an example of resilience, and they serve as role models for younger generations due to the immense wisdom they possess.”
“We believe that the Ageing Well Committee is key to helping us to drive change towards a more senior nurturing culture.”
Minister Furbert added, “I look forward to receiving the expressions of interest, and I want to thank our community in advance for their support, interest, and commitment to what we are seeking to achieve.”
A spokesperson said “Expression of Interest [EOI] forms must be submitted electronically by November 11th 2022, and can be accessed online at: forms.gov.bm/Departments/The-Cabinet-Office/Expression-of-Interest

I Mr Perry Noel Smith will like to be considered, as I am well rounded in all areas, and I have a deep concerns of Bermuda’s ageing population and have general ideas of some situation that will help as I have work in areas with the elderly people her in BERMUDA,
