BTA Welcomes Daily British Airways Flight

October 31, 2022

The BTA said they are “delighted to welcome the launch of a daily direct service” from London to Bermuda, saying that “the two additional flights will launch on 26 March 2023 and last until at least October 2023.”

A spokesperson said, “Bermuda Tourism Authority is delighted to welcome the launch of a daily direct service from London Heathrow to Bermuda’s L.F. Wade International Airport for Spring & Summer 2023. The two additional flights will launch on 26 March 2023 and last until at least October 2023, supporting the increase in business and leisure travellers to the island during peak season.

“The increased service will be the first daily flight from London to Bermuda since before the pandemic in March 2020, and will allow travellers who want to enjoy a full seven-day island escape to do so without having to cut their holiday short. This new flexible schedule invites travellers to fully immerse themselves in the beauty of the destination and the authentic experiences on offer for at least six nights, if not more.”

Interim CEO at Bermuda Tourism Authority, Tracy Berkeley stated: “We want to thank British Airways for their confidence in Bermuda as a destination and providing UK visitors with more flexibility and convenience in getting here.

“Only a seven hour flight from London, Bermuda really is the nearest faraway place with year-round sunshine, beautiful beaches, authentic experiences and mouth watering cuisine on offer. We are beyond excited to continue showcasing our special island, inviting UK visitors to feel and experience Bermuda the way we Bermudians do”.

    Talk about false advertising.

Unfortunately, there’s a misapprehension that Bermuda is a *high end* destination. Let’s have some honesty here. It isn’t.

  2. Southampton Resident says:

It would be nice if the aircraft were reconfigured back to the way they were pre- covid so that passengers aren’t crammed in like a package holiday charter.

  3. James says:

Dont think they have had daily flights since the 80′s. If daily means every day!

    • sandgrownan says:

      They did.

    • Joe Bloggs says:

Until COVID-19 we had daily flights in the summer and 5 flights per week in the winter (or “shoulder”) months.

    • Flyer says:

The flight is moving from Heathrow Terminal 5 to Terminal 3

    Thank you International Business.

  5. Tom says:

Yeah, only going to cost you a arm and a leg !!!

    • Triangle Drifter says:

You must be a young un. Even with the recent spike in airfares they are still, comparatively speaking, way cheaper than years ago in the golden age of air travel when people would dress up for travel & you got a meal, maybe two, instead of a handful of peanuts, & people dress like they are headed to Walmart.

  6. Tom says:

Year around sunshine? Try telling that to the tourists in January/February!

  7. Garry says:

How is this good news? We have a further 5 months of terrible, inadequate flight schedules.

  8. Triangle Drifter says:

Congratulations! We have what was a daily sight during those horrible UBP years back at the airport. A daily British Airways flight.

BTA you have done nothing special or new.
