Diabetes Association Appoints Lori Rockhead
The Bermuda Diabetes Association [BDA] has appointed Lori Rockhead as Executive Director.
A spokesperson said, “Prior to joining the Bermuda Diabetes Association, Ms. Rockhead led the Government, Infrastructure and Healthcare practice for KPMG in Bermuda and across the islands region.
“Ms. Rockhead has over 30 years of experience in public policy, infrastructure finance and consulting with a track record of leading complex and transformative projects to successful completion.
“Ms. Rockhead earned an MBA jointly from the Universities of Toronto and St. Gallen [Switzerland]. Her professional credentials include Chartered Professional Accountant [CPA] and Certified Management Consultant [CMC].
“She is, however, no stranger to the nonprofit world. Ms. Rockhead has been an active volunteer, board member and advisor to not-for-profit organizations including Catalyst – Empowering the Most Vulnerable, Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation, Bermuda International Film Festival, Women’s Resource Centre, SPCA, Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton, and Cummings Zuill Scholarship.”
Debbie Jones, Founder of the Association, said, “As the BDA rises to the challenge of the needs of the diabetes population in Bermuda there is no one better suited for the task than Lori. Lori understands the need to address the disparity in access to quality affordable healthcare in the Bermuda community.
“The newly appointed Executive Director is passionate about good health and wellness and understands the importance of diabetes education.
“The Bermuda Diabetes Association is thrilled to have someone of Lori’s proven leadership skills, business and financial acumen and passion to take us forward in delivering its mission and vision.”
Ms. Rockhead said, “I am delighted to be working with the dedicated team at BDA. The BDA’s mission is more important than ever, with a growing number of people being diagnosed with diabetes in Bermuda and globally. I am looking forward to working closely with other nonprofits, health professionals and the Government to expand prevention, early detection, and diabetes care management.”
