Carifta Triathlon Underway, Bermuda Wins Gold
The 4th Annual Carifta Triathlon, Aquathlon, and Mixed Team Relay Championship got underway this morning at the Clearwater Beach, with Bermuda claiming one gold medal.
Jean-Marc Granderson from Trinidad won the Male 20-21 Age Group Division with a time of 1:04:43, Chad Hosein from Trinidad was second in 1:10:21, and Ralph Wood from the Bahamas rounded out the podium clocking a time of 1:12:02.
Clocking a time of 1:11:21, Rebecca Jansen from Aruba won the Female 16-19 Age Group Division, Kaya Rankine Beadle from Trinidad was second clocking a time of 1:15:44, and Isis Gaskin from Barbados was third with a time of 1:17:10.
Niel Skinner from Barbados won the Boy’s 16-19 Age Group Division with a time of 1:02:54, Fynn Armstrong from Barbados was second with a time of 1:03:10, and Jamie Bedford from Bermuda was third with a time of 1:03:58.
Bermuda’s Fenalla Wightman won the Female 13 – 15 Age Group Division, Wightman crossed the line in a time of 35:25, Erin Pritchard was from Bahamas was second in 37:25, and Valentina Negron from Puerto Rico was third clocking 37:31.
In the Male 13 – 15 Age Group Division, Christiaan Jansen from Aruba claimed the victory stopping the clock in a time of 31:15, Malcolm Menzies from the Bahamas was second with a time of 31:55, and Cain Banfield from Barbados was third with a time of 32:34.
In the Female 11 – 12 Age Group Division, Hailey Banfield from Barbados claimed the title with a time of 26:51, Laila Mcinttre also from Barbados was second clocking 26:55, and Emma Gobert from Aruba was third stopping the clock in a time of 27:18.
Zindzele Renwick-Williams from Barbados was first with a time of 24:58 in the Male 11 – 12 Age Group Division, Bermuda’s Jens Drea was second with a time of 25:37, and Jeon Fernandes from Aruba was third stopping the clock in a time of 25:51.
