Imani Duncan-Price To Speak At PLP Gala

The PLP announced that Imani Duncan-Price of Jamaica will deliver the Keynote Address at the 2022 PLP Gala on Saturday, November 19th.

A spokesperson said, “As former Chief of Staff in the ‘Office of the Leader of the Opposition’ in Jamaica she supported then Opposition Leader and People’s National Party [PNP] President, Dr. Peter Phillips, in policy formulation with a focus on inclusive growth.

“Additionally, a former Government Senator, past Co-Executive Director of Jamaica’s leading think tank, the Caribbean Policy Research Institute [CAPRI], and Group Strategy Officer for the JMMB Group – a leading Caribbean financial services group she has exhibited a record of successful leadership.

“With a passion for social innovation and impact, she recently established the ‘Imani, Grace and Love Foundation’ focusing on Women’s Economic Empowerment and Affordable Dignified Housing across inner-city Kingston, while building politically on the ground.

“She also continues her social justice activism supporting the Caribbean Domestic Workers Network and other such organizations. As a development practitioner, Imani is also a Consultant with UN Women.

“Imani Duncan-Price was crowned Miss Jamaica World 1995; following that she earned a BA from Wesleyan University and Masters in International Development from Harvard University at the Kennedy School. In 2015, she was Named World Economic Forum ‘Young Global Leader 2015’, Eisenhower Fellow in 2018, Global Governance Forum Fellow 2021 and Vital Voices Public Leadership Fellow 2021.

“Imani is a mother of three children,, Aidan, Marley and Selah and wife to Stephen and prides herself on doing the best she can do use the practicalities and possibilities of life to teach her children skills to thrive in this world and to live from the heart.
