Police Commissioner Commends Four Officers
Commissioner of Police Darrin Simons and his Senior Leadership Team highlighted four officers, three for their determined investigative work and one for his continued commitment to officer safety training.
The Bermuda Police Service posted the photos below onlineng, “Detective Constables Michael Redfern & Christopher Sabean + Detective Sergeant Dean Martin received Commissioner’s Commendations, for their persistent efforts over more than four years, which led to the 2020 convictions of two individuals for the 2006 murder of Marcus Gibbings. All three officers credited the initial team of detectives, whose work several years prior allowed for constructive follow up opportunities to progress the investigation.
“Detective Sergeant Pythagoras Santiago received a belated Team Merit Award for his ongoing contributions to officer safety training, which he provides in addition to his regular policing duties. The other recipients of this Team Merit Award had already been recognised during October’s Police Week 2022 awards ceremony.”
