Police Finish Fourth At World Police Games
The Bermuda Police Service secured fourth place in the overall medal standings at the World Police Games in the Dominican Republic, thanks to Madelyn Moore’s six swimming medals and Sergeant Shannon Trott’s second-place finish in golf.
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] is celebrating an impressive showing by its officers at the World Police Games in the Dominican Republic, where Bermuda secured fourth place in the overall medal standings.
“Competing against athletes from significantly larger jurisdictions, the Bermuda delegation demonstrated determination, sportsmanship and commitment across several sporting disciplines, including swimming, golf, basketball, beach volleyball, judo, practical shooting and the 10K road race.
“Constable Madelyn Moore delivered an outstanding performance in the swimming events, capturing five gold medals and one silver. Her achievements played a significant role in Bermuda’s fourth place finish, placing the island among the competition’s top performing nations.
“Bermuda’s success also extended to the golf course, where Sergeant Shannon Trott secured second place, recording rounds of eight over par and eleven over par.
“While the medal achievements were a highlight, the BPS is equally proud of the officers who represented Bermuda across the various disciplines, demonstrating the dedication, resilience and competitive spirit of the Service.”

“Bermuda finished fourth in the overall medal standings, behind China, the Dominican Republic and the Czech Republic, and ahead of Ecuador and Indonesia.
“For an island with a population of fewer than 65,000 people, the result represents an impressive achievement on the international sporting stage.
“Chef de Mission, Superintendent James Howard, praised the delegation for its collective efforts.”
“Our officers represented Bermuda and the Bermuda Police Service with pride, professionalism and distinction. Competing at this level requires considerable preparation, personal sacrifice and dedication, particularly when balancing the demands of a full-time policing career.
“Constable Moore’s outstanding medal-winning performances and Sergeant Trott’s success on the golf course are achievements worthy of recognition. Additionally, we must acknowledge every member of our delegation who stepped forward to compete, challenge themselves and represent our island.
“Whether they returned home with medals or personal achievements, each officer contributed to Bermuda’s presence at these Games. Their willingness to compete on the international stage reflects the discipline, teamwork and determination that we value within the Bermuda Police Service.”
A police spokesperson added, “The BPS congratulates the entire delegation on their participation and achievements, recognising the commitment required to prepare for international competition while continuing to serve the people of Bermuda.
“Their efforts are a reminder that success is measured not only by medals, but also by the courage to compete, the determination to improve and the pride of representing one’s country.”
