$549,126 Raised For Ukraine, Appeal To Close
The Bermuda Red Cross will be closing the Ukraine Appeal on November 30th, having raised $549,126 to date.
A spokesperson said, “Bermuda Red Cross will be sending remaining funds to British Red Cross in early December, which means the Ukraine Crisis Appeal account will be closing on 30 November 2022.
“To date through the generosity of Bermuda residents, we have sent $549,126 to British Red Cross for the Ukraine Crisis Appeal. Eight months on there is still tremendous need. Your donations have provided essential emergency support, include food, water, medical care, and shelter. With winter fast approaching things will get worse and things on the ground constantly changing, support is still needed.
“Our impact so far in Ukraine and bordering countries:
- 5 million people have received emergency relief
- 8 million people have had improved access to water
- 626,000 people have received emergency financial assistance
