Road Traffic Notice: Harrington Sound Road

The Ministry of Public Works advised that BELCO will be pulling their fiber optic lines through the newly installed manholes on Harrington Sound Road which will require a partial lane closure.

A spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that BELCO will be pulling their fiber optic lines through the newly installed manholes on Harrington Sound Road. The first stretch will be from Somersall Road towards Middle Road in Flatts. Second stretch will be from Somersall Road towards Paynters Road.

“The Work will require partial lane closure along each route and a temporary traffic light at Somersall Road to Devil’s Hole. The work will commence Monday, November 14th, 2022 and will be ongoing until Friday, December 2nd 2022.

“Working hours will be from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

“Motorists are asked to cautiously travel along Harrington Sound Road or use alternative routes via North Shore Road or South Road for the duration of this work.

“Traffic control will be managed by BELCO representatives through stop and go signs & a temporary traffic light.

“The Ministry of Public Works encourages the full cooperation of the public, and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.
