The U.S. Consulate General has launched the next Study With “US” campaign video, spotlighting Bermudian students currently attending U.S. colleges and universities, as well as Bermudian alumni of U.S institutions, with the third video featuring Risa Hunter.

A spokesperson said, “The campaign reinforces the longstanding educational exchange ties between the United States and Bermuda and highlights accessible and affordable pathways to study in the United States.

“The third video, released today on Facebook and Instagram [@USConsulateHamilton], highlights the United Nations’ International Day of Education. Risa Hunter, Executive Director at Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art, sheds light on why she chose to study in the United States and highlights the many opportunities U.S. colleges and universities have to offer.

She said, “Growing up, I was one of those people that instead of having one particular passion, or one particular area that I excelled in, I felt like I was relatively good at a number of courses within the humanities sector” says Hunter, who earned a bachelor’s degree in arts and sciences in women and gender studies from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia.”

“International students tell us they choose the United States for higher education because of strong academic opportunities, unparalleled institutional support at U.S. schools, and the value of a U.S. degree to graduates’ careers,” says U.S. Consul General Karen Grissette.

“The release of today’s “Study with US” story supports the International Day of Education proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly to celebrate the role of education for peace and development. As Risa mentions in her segment, the U.S. provides so many opportunities that are worth exploring.”

More international students choose to study in the U.S. than in any other country. U.S. Consul General Grissette shared, “With over 4,500 accredited institutions of higher education, the United States has a college or university right for every student.” She added, “There is a range of affordable study options and scholarships that can be sourced in Bermuda or directly through U.S. institutions.” More information about these scholarships are available at

The spokesperson said, “#StudyWithUS provides information on pathways to pursue higher education through EducationUSA, a U.S. Department of State network of over 430 international student advising centers in more than 175 countries and territories and online The network promotes U.S. higher education to students around the world, offers information about opportunities to study at accredited postsecondary institutions in the United States, and provides services to students and their families focused on topics including the admissions process, standardized testing requirements and how to finance a U.S. education. The U.S. Consulate can provide information about the student visa process and preparing for departure to the United States.

“If you are a current student or alumni of a U.S. college or university and would like to participate in the campaign, please contact Public Diplomacy Assistant Camille Haley []. For information about student visas and Bermuda’s special visa exemption, visit: or contact”
