City Launches Black History Month Video Series

In recognition of Black History Month, the City of Hamilton has created a series of educational videos highlighting sites in the City that “are significant to the legacy of Black Bermudians and the building of our City.”

The inaugural episode of the series focuses on Barr’s Bay Park, highlighting the landing of the American brig Enterprise in 1835.

    Great video but admit the history of Givernor Hamilton who was no angel but a part of that horrific past and acknowledge the work of Nellie Musson who introduced The Enterprise to our children. You do get good grades for the statue at Barrs Bay and the Theatre Boycott at City Hall grounds.

    The majority of the population is black and should set the agenda for the country that covers everybody. No need for the Govt to grieve the past but to recognize it and move to an inclusive future.
