Love Is Love Party Raises $1500 For Charity
Love is Love BDA hosted their annual Love is Love Pre Valentine’s Day party on Saturday, February 11th at the Docksider Pub and Restaurant, with the event raising $1500 to support a local charity.
A spokesperson said, “This was the relaunch of their annual event where the first event was held in February 2020 and forced on hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Love is Love BDA’s recent event catered to Bermuda’s LGBTQ+ & ally community, featured Bermuda’s own DJLA, drink specials and most importantly included a raffle whereas $1500 was raised and later donated to their chosen charity Transitional Community Services.[TCS], thanks in part to generous donations made by several local businesses.
TCS said, “We are grateful to have been identified as the charity of choice by Love is Love BDA. We extend our gratitude to the many supporters and sponsors of the raffles prizes. Through your generosity this gift was possible, and will go a long way in supporting us with continuing to provide services to at risk young adult men aged 18-34.”

A spokesperson added, “Love is Love BDA plans to host future events throughout the upcoming calendar year for the entertainment of Bermuda’s LGBTQ+ & ally community whilst supporting/promoting other entities such as Bermuda Pride, OUTBermuda to promote inclusiveness throughout the island. Love is Love BDA also advocates for Marriage Equality in Bermuda and will continue to support local charities who have a positive impact on the community.
“Their next event planned for Thursday, May 25th and will be entitled “Mardi Gras Ball” emulating the New York City ballroom scene featured in docu-film “Paris is Burning” FX’s tv series “Pose”, and HBO’s Legendary. Love is Love BDA can be found on social media via @loveislovebda on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. That amount is actually pathetic with the amount of wealth on this island.
Excellent news. Thank you.
