Also present was American professional boxer Dorian Bostic, who visited the island to feature in an online webinar alongside Bascome entitled “Becoming a Champion at Life”.

Bostic, who has won all 13 of his pro lightweight bouts, has a master’s degree from the University of Baltimore.
Top local football coach Dennis Brown, youth worker Jahmali Bridgewater, retired police inspector Mark Clark, and Latoya Bridgewater from the Family Centre were the other panellists.

Meanwhile, Bascome returns to the ring to face former opponent Alvin Lagumbay in a “Bermuda v Philippines” fight card at The Shed in Dockyard on May 27.

The welterweight [11-1-0] defeated Lagumbay [13-6-1] by unanimous decision at the Victualling Yard in Dockyard in the summer of 2019.

It will be Bascome’s first contest since his points win over American Cody Kelly in Dockyard in October last year.
