Results: First & Premier Division Football

Footballers in both the First Division and Premier Division were in action this weekend, with the Paget Lions, Wolves, Southampton Rangers, and Somerset Trojans all earning wins, while two other matches ended in draws.

First Division

Devonshire Colts 2 Paget Lions 3

At the Police Field, the Paget Lions moved to the top of the First Division standings following their 3 – 2 win over the Devonshire Colts.

Diaje Hart gave the Paget Lions the lead in the 17th minute, Keino Burch equalized for the Devonshire Colts in the 30th minute, and the teams went to the break locked at 1 – 1.

Two minutes into the second half, Antwan Russell put the Paget Lions back in front, and then in the 84th minute, Dion Stovell’s 25-yard blast extended the Paget Lions lead to 3 – 1, three minutes later Devonshire Colts pulled within one when Jorj Dublin converted from the penalty spot, but they could not find the equalizer.

Wolves 4 Ireland Rangers 0

At the Wellington Oval, Wolves defeated Ireland Rangers 4 – 0 to move into second place in the league.

Wolves got goals from Omeek Smith, Kyle Brangman, Sergio Richardson and Keemo Smith.

Somerset Eagles 2 Southampton Rangers 6

At the White Hill Field, the Southampton Rangers defeated the Somerset Eagles 6 – 2.

The Southampton Rangers got a hat-trick from Jahni Bean and Dominique Hill, Ralston Wright and Cardell Henry all added a goal each, while Marco Basden and Ethan Fubler scored for the Somerset Eagles.

Premier Division

North Village Rams 0 Boulevard Blazers 0

At Bernard’s Park, the North Village Rams and the Boulevard Blazers played to a scoreless draw, putting a dent in the North Village Rams’ chances of winning the league, while also damaging the Boulevard Blazers chances of survival.

Dandy Town Hornets 1 Somerset Trojans 2

At the BAA field, the Somerset Trojans edged the Dandy Town Hornets, to give themselves breathing room in the relegation battle.

Jamhiem Iris gave the Somerset Trojans the lead in the 12th minute, Justin Corday doubled the Somerset Trojans lead when he scored in the 27th minute, but Cecoy Robinson pulled a goal back for the Dandy Town Hornets one minute later, but they could not find an equalizer.

Devonshire Cougars 1 Hamilton Parish 1

A last-minute penalty kick earned the Devonshire Cougars a point a 1 – 1 draw with Hamilton Parish at the Devonshire Recreation Club.

Kion Knights scored in the 5th minute for Hamilton Parish, however Domico Coddington equalized for the Devonshire Cougars scoring in stoppage time.
