Bermuda boxer Andre Lambe paid a special visit to Whitney Institute Middle School as part of Black History Month yesterday [March 7].
The 27-year-old, who has a professional record of seven successive wins, said it was an “honour” to deliver a talk to students at his former school.
“I was pleasantly surprised to be the highlight of Whitney Institute Middle School’s Black History Month ceremony,” Lambe wrote on Facebook.
“Whitney was my old middle school, and it was an honour to present the students with their awards and inspire them with my own achievements.”
Lambe, who holds the American Boxing Organisation and the American Boxing Federation welterweight titles, added: “If you would have told me 15 years ago that I’d be where I am today, I would have never guessed, and I am truly humbled by this experience.”
