BF&M Donate 150 Care Packages To WRC
In honour of Women’s History Month, BF&M donated 150 care packages to the Women’s Resource Centre [WRC] in March.
A spokesperson said, “Juanae Crockwell, Executive Director of the WRC accepted the donation with gratitude on behalf of the organisation’s clients.”
“We are so grateful for the support of BF&M. These care packages have been welcomed by our clients and are a huge relief for those who are struggling with meeting their basic needs,” she said.
“Our centre fields calls daily from women seeking financial assistance or grocery vouchers. We know that there are so many women in this country who are challenged with providing for themselves and their families.
“A quick browse in the feminine hygiene aisle of any grocery store or pharmacy will reveal a huge increase in the cost of products that women need on a monthly basis.
“Donations like these offer short term relief as we work with our clients to create long term plans for financial stability.”
The spokesperson said, “The care packages include feminine hygiene items, such as pads, tampons, body wash, lotion and wipes.”
Abigail Clifford, President and Group CEO, shared: “At BF&M believe that everyone should have access to the basic necessities of life. As a committed partner and supporter of the Women’s Resource Centre, we were pleased to donate 150 care packages to support the invaluable work that they do helping women and families in need in our community.
“We would like to thank our employees who contributed to our company-wide drive and volunteered their time to prepare the care packages. BF&M supplemented staff donations with a further purchase of $12,000 worth of personal care essential items.”
The spokesperson said, “The remaining care packages are available on a first come, first serve basis from the Women’s Resource Centre office in Sophia House.
