Bermuda Women’s U20 Team Announced

The Bermuda Football Association [BFA] announced the final team selected to represent Bermuda at the 2023 Concacaf Women’s Under-20 Qualifiers.

A spokesperson said, “The tournament will serve to qualify six teams for the Concacaf Women’s Under-20 Championship.

“The Bermuda team is comprised of talented players from across the island. This includes two goalkeepers: Taya Rodrigues and Samantha Davies and five defenders: Jayla Peets Butterfield, Samara Darrell, Zemira Webb, Marli Butterfield, Christia Lugo Elibox. The team also features seven midfielders: Che Chulae Dowling, Jahde Simmons, Keyandae Outerbridge, Kxiyae Gibbons, Robin- Valana Pearman, Camryn Lines, and Azari Easton and six forwards: Sanaa Simmons, Keidel Astwood, Breanna DaSilva Medeiros, Jahni Simmons, Ashley DaSilva, and Eva Tuzo.

“The qualifiers will take place at the Estadio Nacional de Futbol in Managua, Nicaragua.

“Bermuda’s match schedule is as follows:

  • Friday, April 14, 2023, versus Honduras, kick-off is at 7 PM
  • Sunday, April 16, 2023, versus Jamaica, kick-off is at 10 PM
  • Tuesday, April 18, 2023, versus Anguilla, kick-off is at 7 PM
  • All match times are Atlantic.

When asked how he feels about his team and their chances in the Concacaf Women’s Under-20 Championship, Head Coach Vance Brown said, “We are a young team with positive energy and expecting to do well. We are anticipating tough games but will be going into every game looking to be competitive.”
