Peter Rickards Named Director Of Football
Bermudian football coach Peter Rickards has been appointed director of women’s football at the University of Northampton in England.
Rickards said he is looking forward to overseeing the programme and developing the coaching staff.
“I’m in my mid-fifties and have been looking for a position where I can step back a bit from on the field,” Rickards told Bernews.
“I’ve been looking to run an entire programme with some coaches working under me and give them guidance.
“I’ll still be taking sessions and working the coches on style of play, different formation.
“It will be exciting to have a different role for myself.”
Rickards, who established CP Athletic Development, a youth futsal academy in Bermuda, in 2012, has previously worked as a coach in the Soccer Excellence Programme at Sky Bet League One club MK Dons and for the CIFA Football School.
