Dash In Dark Series Opener To Honour Homan
The opening race of the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Club’s Dash in the Dark Series for Juniors will be held tomorrow [April 21] in memory of Eoghan Homan.
Eoghan died aged 16 at Boston Children’s Hospital in February following a 14-month battle with a rare form of cancer.
The Somersfield Academy student was a talented runner and won the Middle School Boys’ Front Street Mile in 2020 and claimed the under-14 boys’ title in the National Cross-Country Championships in 2019.
The race in his honour will be held at the Flora Duffy Stadium at 6 pm and involve various age-group races.
Runners aged four and five will run one lap, six and seven-year-olds two laps, eight to nine-year-olds three laps, and ten and 11-year-olds will compete on a course of over a mile.
Donations and proceeds raised will go towards Pals Bermuda and Boston Children’s Hospital Miles for Miracles campaign.
