St David’s County Cricket Club Bicycle Race And Go Kart Race

Friday, April 7th, 2023

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the St. David’s County Cricket Club Bicycle Race and Go Kart Race will take place on Friday, April 7, 2023, between the hours of 4:00 pm and 4:45 pm. The following roads will be affected to all vehicular traffic.

Bicycle Route

Cycle participants will commence at St. David’s Lighthouse Road near the turn-around area, then travel in a northerly direction to St. Luke’s Lane, then turn left and travel in a westerly direction along St. Luke’s Lane to Texas Road, then turn right and travel in north easterly direction to Great Bay Road, then travel in a easterly direction along Great Bay Road to the entrance of St. David’s County Cricket Club entrance and end the race.

Go Kart Route

Go Kart participants will commence at St. David’s Lighthouse near the turn around, then travel in a northerly direction to St. Luke’s Lane, then turn left and travel in a westerly direction along St. Luke’s Lane to Texas Road, then turn right and travel in a north easterly direction to Great Bay Road, then travel in an easterly direction along Great Bay Road to the entrance of St. David’s County Cricket Club entrance and end the race.

Motor Go Kart Route

Motor Go Kart participants will commence at Mount Road the turn around, then travel in a northerly direction to St. Luke’s Lane, then turn left and travel in a westerly direction along St. Luke’s Lane to Texas Road, then turn right and travel in a north easterly direction to Great Bay Road, then travel in an easterly direction along Great Bay Road to the entrance of St. David’s County Cricket Club entrance and end the race.

Traffic Control:

The bicycle race will commence on Friday, April 7th, 2023, at 4:00 pm and is expected to be concluded by 4:10pm. The Go Kart race will commence on Friday, April 7th, 2023, at 4:15pm and is expected to be concluded by 4:20pm. The Motor Go Kart race will commence on Friday, April 7th, 2023, at 4:30pm and is expected to be concluded by 4:45pm. All motorists are expected to use caution and avoid collision with race participants. The race route will be under Police and Race Official control. Motorists are asked to follow Race Official instructions to assist with traffic control for this event.

Road Closures:

The following roads will be closed, Mount Road, St Luke’s Lane, Texas Road, and Great Bay Road to motorists. The motorists must also allow cyclists and Go Kart participants to use these roads and give way when directed by Police and Race Officials.

Parking:

There will be parking restriction for roadways mentioned above for these races. Additionally, motorists must not block the race route or impede the participants in these races.

Residence Access:

While these races take place the residents will have limited access to their property. The residents must rely on race officials to grant access to their property. Use caution to avoid any collision with any race participant when entering the close roadways for this bicycle race.
