One Comms Donates Meals & Easter Baskets
One Communications is celebrating Easter with the Coalition for the Protection of Children by donating packages of a dozen fishcakes and hot cross buns to 30 families, along with Easter baskets for the kids.
A spokesperson said, “The donation was made in support of the organization’s efforts to provide children and their families with a memorable and enjoyable Easter holiday.
“As part of the donation, One Communications took the opportunity to include the Bermuda College for the meals, as well as local business, BluKids for the Easter Baskets. The trainee chefs at Bermuda College’s Culinary Arts Program, prepared the fishcakes and hot cross buns.”
“We are delighted to partner with the Coalition to make this year’s Easter holiday extra special for the children and their families,” said Brian Lonergan, Chief Commercial Officer at One Communications. “It has been a pleasure to work with the Bermuda College Culinary Arts Program to provide the delicious meals.”
The spokesperson said, “This initiative is part of One Communications’ ongoing commitment to give back to the community and support critical charities in Bermuda.”
Kelly Hunt, Executive Director of the Coalition remarked, “On behalf of the CPC team and the families we serve, we are extremely grateful for the partnership that we have with One Communications. Our families have received the pleasure of an enjoyable Easter, support with meals, as well as other hardship relief. We appreciate that One has a heart for those who need our help during their time of need. Thank you One!”
Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Phyllis Curtis-Tweed said the donation aligns well with the community spirit of the College.
She said, “Bermuda College is pleased to be able to partner with corporate entities such as One Communications, which, like us, have the community at its heart. This is the second Easter that our culinary arts students have donated their expertise to a worthy cause, and furnishing these cultural favourites to families to enjoy over the Holiday weekend is our pleasure. Kudos to our faculty, Mr. Rui De Sa, and Senior Chefs Dr. Teneika Eve and Shawn Ming, as well as to the students for their generosity.”
