Kahzi Sealey and Jake Brislane claimed more medals for Bermuda on the final day of the 50th Carifta Games in Nassau, Bahamas, yesterday [April 10].
After winning Bermuda’s first medal on the opening day of the Games on Saturday, finishing runner-up in the under-20 1,500 metres, Sealey continued his fine form by clinching a second silver in the under-20 5,000.
There was also medal joy for Brislane in the same race after he won bronze.
Bermuda claimed five medals at the Games, two more than the three they won in Kingston, Jamaica, last year.
J’Auza James was also among the medals for Bermuda, winning bronze in the octathlon on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Bermuda girls’ under-17 4×100 relay team were awarded the bronze after the Jamaica team were disqualified because of a technicality.
Bermuda’s team of J’Naz Richards, Pria Wilson, Lashee Jones and Arima Turner, finished fourth in the race on Sunday; however, the Jamaica team’s baton was deemed to have taken place outside the takeover zone.
