Nicole Mitchell Qualifies For 70.3 Worlds

Nicole Mitchell has achieved her mission of qualifying for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Taupo, New Zealand, next year.
The Bermudian executed a superb race to finish fourth in the 40-44 women’s age group at the Ironman 70.3 Ohio in 5hr 9min 0sec on Sunday [July 23].
Mitchell, whose splits were 40:26, 2:32:50 and 1:50:27, finished 26th overall in the women’s race and secured one of the 40 age-group qualifying slots for the championship on December 14-15 next year.
The 40-year-old, a four-time winner of the Sinclair Packwood Memorial Race, posted on Facebook: “First time making the podium! Punched my ticket to [the] World Championship in New Zealand [in] 2024. Mission accomplished!”
