Education Awards: Harrison, Jervis & Hardtman
Three Bermudian students – Zuri Harrison, Jonathan Jervis and Zamauri Hardtman – have received legal education awards from law firm Marshall Diel & Myers.
A spokesperson said, “Three Bermudian students have received legal education awards from law firm Marshall Diel & Myers Limited.
“Zuri Harrison, Jonathan Jervis and Zamauri Hardtman are recipients of the awards this year with Ms Harrison receiving a $10,000 scholarship, Mr Jervis receiving a $5,000 bursary and Mr Hardtman receiving a $2,500 bursary.
Ms Harrison is a recent graduate of Somersfield Academy where she received her IB Diploma. She wilI be attending University of Exeter in September to begin her legal studies.”
Ms Harrison says: “I aspire to become a lawyer and practice family law to give back to Bermuda in a more meaningful way. I believe that helping others, standing up for justice, living with integrity, and promoting fairness and equity can be achieved through the exercise of law.”
The spokesperson said, “Mr Jervis obtained a Bachelors in Social Work and a Masters in Social Work from Andrews University in Michigan and worked at Bermuda Hospitals Board’s Child and Adolescent Services for seven years, gaining significant experience as a mental health professional and advocate before deciding to pivot and building on his qualifications as a legal professional and advocate.
“In October 2022 Jonathan completed the Post Graduate Diploma in Law through The University of Law with commendation. He is currently enrolled in the Legal Practice Course and Masters in Law at The University of Law Leeds with expected completion in the fall of 2023.
“Mr Hardtman is a student at the University of Buckingham. He plans to return to Bermuda after the completion of his studies for his pupillage where he hopes to contribute to the legal landscape and further develop his expertise.”
