Fighters Set For Pan Am Kungfu Championships

A team of local athletes will compete in the Fourth Pan American Kungfu Championships in Markham, Ontario, this week.
Krista Dyer and Kaelin Cox will captain the 16-strong party from the Bermuda Sanshou Association [BSA], which includes Garon Wilkinson, Talia Iris, Quennel Robinson, Che Beane, Cole Durham and Kallan Todd in the adult class.
In the junior class, Tristan Robinson, Harrison Selkirk, Geraldine Sidders, Muryah Swan, Enzi Johnston, Jonathan Trott, Michael Burgess and Errin Cann will compete.
Wilkinson, the BSA president, Iris and Cox will compete in traditional kungfu, which is the main focus of the event.
Meanwhile, Cann will participate in contemporary wushu while the remainder of the athletes will compete in sanda kickboxing.
Held at the Markham Pan Am Centre, the tournament runs from tomorrow [August 3] until August 6.
