Friendly Society Tour Set For August 25th
In recognition of Emancipation Day and Cup Match, the Bermuda National Library is getting set to present ‘Find Your Voice’ and, in collaboration with Titan Express, a Friendly Society Tour on Friday, August 25 at 6.00pm.
A spokesperson said, “In recognition of Emancipation Day and Cup Match, the Bermuda National Library presents ‘Find Your Voice,’ and, in collaboration with Titan Express, is offering the Friendly Society Tour on Friday, August 25 at 6.00pm. To register visit bnl.bm.”

“The stories and contributions of the Friendly Societies is of outmost significant importance to the history of Emancipation Day and Cup Match, which took place in Bermuda on August 1st, 1834. We encourage people to come out with family and friends and learn about these stories that helped shape Bermuda’s history.
“Enjoy a brief bus tour in Hamilton City as we share stories of the Friendly Societies and their contributions before and after Emancipation and within the community, along with their involvement and contribution to the game of Cup Match. Included is also a visit to one of the lodges, in which, Friendly Society members will share the rich history of the lodges and their legacy and impact in the community over the centuries.
“Refreshments will also be served here.”
