The Board of Impact Mentoring Academy today announced the “immediate suspension of operations of the school for the 2023-2024 academic year due to low enrollment numbers.”

A spokesperson said, “This decision was reached after careful consideration of the school’s financial position.”

“We are genuinely sorry to announce that Impact Mentoring Academy will not be accepting students for the coming year,” said Mr. Calvin White, Board Chair. “Our primary focus has always been providing a high-quality education and a nurturing environment for our students. Unfortunately, the decline in enrollment for this school year has led us to make this difficult decision.

“The temporary closure of the school will impact students and their parents who have signed up for the year and four dedicated staff members, each of whom has played a vital role in shaping the educational experience at Impact Mentoring Academy. The board is committed to assisting these individuals and offering support during this transition period.”

Mr. White added, “The board is actively working on a plan to reopen Impact Mentoring Academy in September 2024.” We view this temporary closure as an opportunity to reevaluate our approach and create a stronger, more vibrant Impact Mentoring Academy.”

“The Board of Impact Mentoring Academy expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the students, parents, and staff who have been a part of the school’s journey. The decision to suspend operations was not taken lightly, and the Board remains committed to the vision, mission and values that have defined Impact Mentoring Academy,” Mr. White concluded.
