PHC Foundation Annual Scholarship Awards
The PHC Foundation presented scholarships to Majesty Wilson, Kairo Lewis, Kauai Evans, Eusebio King-Mills, Keishon Bean, Angelino Madeiros, and Shavon Nisbett.
A spokesperson said, “The PHC Foundation recently held its 19th Annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony at Chubb Bermuda.
“A total of $27,000 was awarded to seven young men and women to assist with their studies at college and university levels. The PHC Foundation has now awarded over $352,000 since it was founded in 2004.
“The winners of this year’s scholarships are Majesty Wilson, Kairo Lewis, Kauai Evans, Eusebio King-Mills, Keishon Bean, Angelino Madeiros, and Shavon Nisbett.”
“We are extremely proud of this year’s group of extraordinary young people selected to receive a PHC Foundation Scholarship Award,” said PHC Foundation President Mark Simons. “Congratulations to all of our recipients; we wish them well in their studies this school year.”
The spokesperson said, “The awards presentation was held at Chubb Limited and attended by PHC Foundation donors, family, friends and guests who celebrated the positive accomplishments of the awardees thus far.
“The guest speaker at the event was Ms Charryse Bean, Director of The Department of Youth Sport & Recreation. For the past 21 years, Ms Bean has worked for the Government of Bermuda, first as a Teacher for the Department of Education and now in the Department of Youth, Sport, & Recreation. Ms Bean provided the awardees with advice drawn from her own life experience that can be applied to their studies abroad and throughout their lives.
“Senator, The Honorable Owen K. Darrell JP, Minister of Youth, Sport & Culture also added a few words of encouragement to the awardees.
“The PHC Foundation also acknowledged the life of Mr Marco Warren who was a former recipient.
“The PHC Foundation would like to thank the 2023 donors who without their contributions this year’s scholarships could not be possible; their support is greatly appreciated. The PHC Foundation‘s primary objective is to assist young people at the Pembroke Hamilton Club in pursuing higher education.
