Police Renew Appeal On Shooting Incident

The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] said they are “renewing its appeal for witnesses or anyone with information on that shooting incident at the Caroline Bay Marina, earlier this month.

A police spokesperson said, ”As we indicated then, around 11:13 p.m. on Sunday, August 6th, 2023, police received several reports of gunshots in the Caroline Bay, George’s Bay Road area, Southampton.

“Upon the arrival of officers and other first responders at the scene, it was ascertained that two people were injured in the confirmed firearms incident.

“One victim was shot in the chest, the other sustained a bullet wound to the hand. Both victims were attended to at the scene by EMTs before being transported by ambulance to King Edward Memorial Hospital. They have both since been discharged.

“An investigation into this matter has now begun and anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Odessa Philip on 717-2193 or via email ophilip@bps.bm.
