Daley Wins Medals, Breaks Two Records

Elijah Daley recently competed in the Invitational Hall of Fame Swim Meet, hosted by the Etobicoke Swim Club at the Etobicoke Olympium in Canada.

On the second day of the event, Daley made an excellent showing by winning two medals, breaking two Bermuda short course records, and setting three personal bests.

In the 4x50m medley relay, Daley set a new Bermuda national record for the 50m butterfly, clocking a personal best of 24.77. This time surpassed Jesse Washington’s record of 25.56 which was established in 2018.

Daley secured his first gold medal of the day in the 17-18 boys’ 200m freestyle, finishing with a time of 1:54.97. He continued his winning streak by claiming the gold medal in the 17-18 boys’ 100m backstroke, touching the wall in a personal best time of 56.97. This achievement broke Jack Harvey’s record of 57.84 set in November 202o.

In the 17-18 boys’ 200m freestyle, Daley finished fourth with a personal best time of 52.48.
