Five People Earn PACE Certifications
Selina Wellman, Nisha Samuels, Lucy Costa, Keema Wilson, and Dionne Trott have received Professional Administrative Certification of Excellence [PACE] awards after completing a three-month American Society of Administrative Professionals certification program.
A spokesperson said, “Bermuda has 5 new Professional Administrative Certification of Excellence [PACE] awardees. Selina Wellman-PACE [Bermuda Gov. Education Dept.], Nisha Samuels-PACE [Bermuda Gov. Corrections Dept.], Lucy Costa-PACE [Ren Re], Keema Wilson-PACE [CHUBB] and Dionne Trot-PACE [Ren Re], all received their certifications in August after 3 months of steady studying the American Society of Administrative Professional’s [ASAP] certification program or body of knowledge. The ASAP is recognized by the Institute for Credentialing Excellence [ICE].
“The ASAP program is taught through an interactive, e-learning platform and is comprised of 4 learning modules to pass the 1.5hour PACE exam-Interpersonal Communication, Task & Project Management, Computer & Internet Technology and Management Skills. Exam takers must receive a pass grade of 80% or more to become PACE certified.
“ASAP’s website shares that being an administrative professional is more than a job and the PACE certification enables one to demonstrate their depth of knowledge, expertise, and commitment. Professionals who earn their PACE are statistically more in demand by employers, giving them an edge in hiring, compensation, and promotions.
Nisha Samuels stated, “I got my PACE certification to upgrade my skills for my position and become more knowledgeable. Being certified also shows management that I take my career seriously, and it will also heighten my credibility.
“The time spent studying, sleepless nights, and effort I put in has paid off! Completing the PACE program made me feel accomplished and now I proudly display the PACE letters after my name.”
