October 3, 2023 | 3 Comments

“The Parliamentary Registrar is “reminding members of the community who reside in the Smith’s South Constituency that the Bye-Election is on October 5, 2023.”

A spokesperson said, “Voters living in Smith’s South area should have ensured that their registration details are correct and up to date. Information relating to Thursday’s bye-election can be found at www.elections.gov.bm. For election day, the polling station is St. Patrick’s Church Hall. Polls open at 8.00 a.m. and close at 8.00 p.m.

“The Parliamentary Registry Office will remain open to assist voters during this time. The PRO is located on the 3rd floor, Craig Appin Building, #8 Wesley Street, Hamilton.”

The PLP’s Mischa Fubler and the OBA’s Ben Smith will run in the bye-election, which was called due to the resignation of Cole Simons, who has held the seat for over two decades, winning twice under the UBP and three times under the OBA, with winning percentages ranging from 63.24% to 73.84%.

The UBP has been dead for over a decade. It was dissolved in 2011. Get with the times.
