Harvey Breaks Bermuda National Record

Competing in the Pan American Games in Chile, Emma Harvey has broken the Bermuda national record. Competing in Heat 4 of the women’s 100m backstroke, Harvey touched the wall in an impressive time of 1:02.42, surpassing Kiera Aitken’s previous record set 15 years ago during the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, when she clocked 1:02.62. Harvey is now set to swim in the A Final later today.

In other events in Chile, Madelyn Moore swam in the women’s 100m freestyle, finishing 7th in Heat 3 with a time of 58.37, landing her in 24th place overall. Meanwhile, Sam Williamson secured 2nd place in Heat 1 of the men’s 200m Breaststroke, clocking 2:28.54, which positioned him 23rd overall.

Jack Harvey competed in Heat 2 of the men’s 100m backstroke, finishing 6th with a time of 57.04, resulting in an 18th place finish overall.
