Pedestrian In Intensive Care Unit After Collision

A visitor to the island is in the ICU after a “serious road traffic collision involving a male pedestrian and a water truck in the area of Marley Beach, Warwick,” the police have confirmed.

A police spokesperson said, “Shortly after 7:15 p.m. on Monday, October 30th, 2023, police officers were dispatched to a serious road traffic collision involving a male pedestrian and a water truck in the area of Marley Beach, Warwick.

“Details are limited at this time. However, upon arrival at the scene, officers were informed the pedestrian, a visitor to the island, was attempting to cross the roadway when the collision occurred.

“Reports are the male was unconscious with a suspected severe head injury. He was transported via ambulance to King Edward Hospital for treatment. At last check he was being admitted to the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

“The roadway was closed to all vehicular traffic with diversions in place at South Road/ Dunscombe Road and South Road/ Warwick Lane. An investigation into this matter has now commenced and anyone with information is asked to contact PC Tashun Simons on 295-0011 or via email, tsimons2@bps.bm.”

  1. There ARE foreigners to our island who seem NOT to understand how to utilize our side walks and our sides of roads. Some walk around shirtless .Others walk around with bikinis with minimum coverage for their frail bodies!!MANY must adhere to rules in Bermuda, just like Bermudians must adhere to other countries’ values!! Mercy!!

      This is bonkers. You’re either speculating heavily on the nationality of either the pedestrian or the driver… or being deliberately malicious by throwing comments about what people are wearing. Meanwhile somebody is seriously injured.

    May he heal fully from this injures. Head trauma is a very complexed and can be life changing.
