Single Lane Closure On St George’s York Street

The Corporation of St. George’s advised that there will be single-lane closure on York Street starting on October 30.

A spokesperson said, “The Corporation of St. George’s wishes to inform the public that there will be a single-lane closure on York Street in the Town of St. George. The lane closure is required to commence with milling and paving of York Street from Rose Hill Street through to Duke of Clarence Street.

“Weather permitting, the lane closure will commence on Monday, October 30th, 2023 through Thursday, November 30th, 2023. Working hours will be 7:30am through 5 pm daily.

“No parking will be permitted on sections of York Street to allow for the single-lane closure for the duration of the project.

“The entrance to the parking lot at Customs House Square will be blocked off from York Street entrance and access will only be granted via Water Street.

“West bound traffic will be diverted along Water Street, westward up Blacksmith’s Hill to allow for the single-lane closure on York Street. Penno’s Drive traffic flow will be reversed and traffic will flow in an anti-clockwise direction. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution along Water Street to avoid collision with pedestrians in the area.

“Traffic control will be under the direction of East End Asphalt representatives.

“The Corporation of St. George’s wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the motoring public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.
