One Lane Closure On St George’s York Street

The Corporation of St. George’s advised “that there will be a single-lane closure on York Street in St. George’s.”

A Government spokesperson said, “The lane closure is required to commence with milling and paving of York Street from Rose Hill Street through to Duke of Clarence Street.

“Weather permitting, the lane closure will commence on Monday, October 30th, 2023 through Thursday, November 30th, 2023.

“Working hours will be 7:30am through 5pm daily.

“No parking will be permitted on sections of York Street to allow for the single-lane closure during the day to take place.

“The entrance to the Robinson Parking lot and Post Office will be blocked off from York Street entrance and access will only be granted via Water Street.

“West bound traffic [except buses] will be diverted along Water Street to Penno’s Drive back up to York Street. Blacksmith’s Hill will be closed off during the day. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution along Water street to avoid collision with pedestrians in the area.

“Traffic control will be under the direction of East End Asphalt representatives during the day and traffic lights during the night.

“The Corporation of St. George’s wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the motoring public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.
