[Updated] The police have confirmed they have started “inquiries into an incident of indecent exposure which is alleged to have occurred at the north field of the National Sports Center.”

A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service has begun inquiries into an incident of indecent exposure which is alleged to have occurred at the north field of the National Sports Center, Devonshire.

“While we are aware of a video clip of the reported incident circulating on social media, we urge anyone with information related to this matter to please call the main police number 295-0011.  We also ask that should you receive the video in question that you do not forward it on.”

The video circulating shows a man, who is not wearing any clothes, getting on a mechanical bull at a stall, and it also shows white tents in the background, which are the same as those which are up for the World Rugby Classic, which is currently taking place at the National Sports Center.

Update Nov 6, 12.15pm: When asked about this incident, World Rugby Classic officials confirmed that “the player in question was sent home to the UK by his team management on Sunday,” and told Bernews that they had planned to ban him from the grounds in any case.

Update Nov 6, 1.10pm: A police spokesperson said, “The investigation continues into the act of indecent exposure which occurred at the National Sports Center over the weekend. Bermuda Police Service is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information on what transpired, to contact Acting Detective Superintendent, Sherwin Joseph on 717-2158 or, via email jsherwin@bps.bm.

“There has so far been no formal report of this incident made to police. However, the matter is being progressed. We are interested in speaking with anyone who may have been at the tent where the incident occurred and who would have recorded what happened.

“We are particularly interested in speaking with the female seen in the video posted to social media, attempting to stop the actions of the male suspect.”

Assistant Commissioner of Police Antoine Daniels said, “This matter is being treated with the same level of seriousness as all acts of indecent exposure in any public place. While police officers were in the general vicinity of where the incident occurred, it was not brought to their attention.

“That notwithstanding, immediately upon learning of the incident, an investigation was commenced.”

The police spokesperson said, “Persons with information may also call the main police number 295-0011 or, speak with a police officer you know.”

Dem guys know how to have some fun but as usual because of the perceived makeup of the crowd and participants a whole lot of people will be feigning indignation and demanding near capital punishment .

    • Payattention says:

If he was a well-endowed man of another persuasion, intimidating the males there and enticing the women, it would certainly be a problem. Just because he doesn’t have much to look at doesn’t make it less of a criminal offense.

  2. Lion Paw says:

Acts like these have been going on since the Cup inception here. Takes the circulation of a video to finally address those drunken classless men

  3. Sandgrownan says:

Uh ho, the morality police are out again! Who cares?

  4. Triangle Drifter says:

Oh PUHLEESE! Go and find something important to solve. Had this been a beautiful naked woman riding that bull nothing would be said.

The hypocrites are out in force waving their morality bibles. The same people who say nothing about the lewd antics seen every year on the very public streets during the Bermuda Day parade, and others.

    • question says:

Exactly. The j’ouvert event routinely has displays of public nudity.

  5. Unbelievable says:

What they should do is investigate the craziness that was happening on fire engines during carnival this year. Talk about indecent behaviour. Sheesh.

  6. sage says:

Were they fully naked exposing genitalia? You, Toodle doo, question and Drifter are ridiculous, carnival is no worse than what women wear to the beach then to the grocery store with a see through wrap. Nightlife is the same lot lizard style contest but is not classified as indecent exposure, anymore.

lol , you totally missed the point being made . Go have another toke .
