Omar Hayward Reaches Semi-Finals In Chile
Omar Hayward has reached the boccia semi-finals in the men’s individual BC1 division at the Parapan Am Games in Santiago, Chile,
Hayward won all three of his pool A matches, beating German Caldéron Nahuel, of Chile, 7-2 and Jose Pagua Herrera, of Venezuela, 5-3 in his first day of action, before defeating Jose Chagas de Oliveira, of Brazil, on a tie-breaker after their match ended 6-6.
The Bermudian will face Lance Cryderman, of Canada, in the semi-finals today.
Meanwhile, Yushae DeSilva-Andrade takes on Dayana Quiroz, of Ecuador, in pool A of the women’s boccia individual BC1 division today.
DeSilva-Andrade beat Ailen Flores, Argentina, 3-2 in her opening game.
