TROIKA To Host Two Encore Shows On Nov 5
TROIKA Bermuda announced two encore shows scheduled for Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 3:00pm and 7:30pm.
A spokesperson said, “TROIKA Bermuda [TROIKA] has brought Broadway to Bermuda! November 1, 2023 TROIKA debuted its, presentation of the South African Broadway musical, “Sarafina!”, featuring an “all-star Bermudian cast of over 40 young performers who can sing, dance and act.” The run of the show was originally only scheduled for the sold-out dates of November 1st-4th 2023, however, they’ve extended the showings due to demand from the public.
“TROIKA Bermuda is humbled by the response and support of our Work In Progress #8 [WIP8] production of the Broadway hit musical, ‘Sarafina!’. We are delighted to announce that we will be doing two encore shows on Sunday, 5th November 2023 at 3:00pm and 7:30pm.
“Sarafina! is a South African musical created by Mbongeni Ngema and Hugh Masakela. Through story, song, and dance, the musical portrays students’ involvement in the Soweto Riots against apartheid. The story revolves around Sarafina, a radical young schoolgirl, who inspires her classmates with her commitment to the struggle against apartheid. Sarafina! originally premiered on Broadway in 1988 and was later adapted into a hit film in 1992.
“The multitalented creative team for our production includes direction by Nhlanhla Ngema, a native South African who appeared in the original film and Broadway cast; vocal direction and dialect coaching by Tiisetso Ngema; and choreography by Bermuda’s own, Carling Ray. The production features an all-star Bermudian cast of over 40 young performers who can sing, dance and act.

I saw this production last night and all I can say is WOW!!!!!! These young people are so talented, I mean in one scene the young lady truly seemed as though she had lived the actual experience, her performance seemed so real… WELL DONE TROIKA AN AHHHHHMAZING PRODUCTION!!!!!!
Five Stars!!! Excellent production. If you haven’t purchased your ticket you will be very upset if you miss it.
