Airport Waste Facility Closed Today After Fire
The Airport Waste Management Facility will be closed for the day following last night’s [Dec 19] fire.
A Government spokesperson said, “As a result of last night’s fire at the Airport Waste Management Facility, the complex will remain closed for the remainder of today.
“An update will be provided in due course. The Ministry of Public Works hopes the public will understand the need to ensure the Facility is safe before allowing truck entry.
“Once the site assessment is completed, we will reopen the Facility to the trucking public.”

The airport fire has a terrible smell. It seems very unhealthy. What is burning? Why hasn’t it been extinguished after 24 hours? Are electric vehicles burning? Downwind of the fire feels toxic.
