Richardson Elected OBA Leader By Acclamation
Jarion Richardson is “now officially the OBA Party Leader after being elected by acclamation,” while MPs Susan Jackson and Ben Smith are up for election as Deputy Leader, the OBA confirmed in advance of their annual conference on Monday.
A spokesperson said, “The One Bermuda Alliance will be holding its annual conference on Monday, 4 December 2023 at Pier Six on Front Street. The conference is open to OBA members only.
“Jarion Richardson is now officially the OBA Party Leader after being elected by acclamation – with no one challenging him for leadership.
“However MPs Susan Jackson and Ben Smith have both thrown their hats into the ring for the position of Deputy Leader.
“While four nominees, Elizabeth Deacon, Jospeh Marable, Ikeysha Wales and Kim Wales, are vying for Deputy Chair of the party, Aguinaldo Mederios will remain Party Chair until his tenure ends in one year.
“Members of the One Bermuda Alliance are urged to attend the conference which begins at 6pm. To register for the conference, visit https://oba.bm/conference/.
“Anyone wishing to become a member can do so by visiting www.oba.bm/membership.”
The voters already knew he was going to be the next one they use. This party has one strategy. FRONT SURROGATES to appear diverse.
Thanks for your commitment Jarion.
A good decision, now start acting like a proper Opposition and Government in waiting. For example, what is your position on full membership of Caricom and will you demand a referendum?
