The St. David’s and Somerset Trojans claimed victories in the Friendship & Shield semi-finals football action.
Shield Semi-Final
St. David’s 3 Somerset Eagles 1
St. David’s advanced to the Shield Final following their 3 – 1 win over the Somerset Eagles at the Southampton Oval.
Makal Robinson gave the Somerset Eagles the lead in the 7th minute, James Pace equalized for St. David’s when he found the back of the net in the 19th minute.
The teams would go to the break deadlocked at 1 – 1.
St. David’s went ahead 2 – 1 when Andrew Paynter scored in the 51st minute, and then Christen Lugo made it 3 – 1 to St. David’s in the 69th minute.
Friendship Trophy Semi-Final
Hamilton Parish 1 Somerset Trojans 2
The Somerset Trojans advanced to the Friendship Trophy Final following their 2 – 1 win over Hamilton Parish at the Southampton Oval.
Paris Robinson gave the Somerset Trojans the lead in the 34th minute, they would take that 1 – 0 lead to the break.
Zuhri Burgess equalized for Hamilton Parish finding the back of the net in the 66th minute, just when it looked as if the teams would need extra time, Jaz Ratteray Smith scored for the Somerset Trojans in the 87th minute to earn them a spot in the final.
