Antonio Pierce’s Raiders Set Points Record

Antonio Pierce’s Las Vegas Raiders set a franchise record for points scored after defeating the Los Angeles Chargers 63-21 yesterday [December 14].
Pierce – the son of Bermudian Cleo Burrows – watched his side fall nine points short of the NFL’s all-time regular-season record for points in a single game, set by Washington in 1966.
The win keeps the Raiders’ slim AFC wildcard hopes alive. They had lost three straight games coming into the match.
Raiders rookie quarterback Aiden O’Connell completed 20 of 34 passes for 248 yards and four touchdowns.
Pierce’s side led 42-0 at half-time, with Pierce reportedly telling his players to “Press the gas pedal even harder” after the break.
For the first time, an all-Black on-field and replay crew, including three women, officiated an NFL fixture.
Pierce was promoted from the Raiders linebackers coach to interim coach on November 1.
