Met Opera: Der Rosenkavalier Revival
The Bermuda Opera team is inviting opera enthusiasts to experience the magic of world class productions with the Met: Live in HD [2022-23] & Encore series.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Opera team is proud to present the Met: Live in HD [2022-23] & Encore series in Bermuda [on film]. Don’t miss your chance to see these world-class productions on the big screen in high definition quality.
“All operas on Sundays at 5pm at BUEI, unless otherwise advised. All have English subtitles and are approximately 3-4 hours long, including a 30 minute interval.
“The next opera is Der Rosenkavalier [Strauss] – Revival – on Sunday, 21 January 2024 at 5pm, at BUEI.
“A stellar trio assembles to take on the lead roles of Strauss’s comedy, with soprano Lise Davidsen in her Met role debut as the Marschallin, opposite mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard in her Met role debut as Octavian, and soprano Erin Morley as Sophie. Bass Günther Groissböck returns as Baron Ochs, and Markus Brück is Sophie’s father, Faninal. Maestro Simone Young takes the podium to oversee Robert Carsen’s fin-de-siècle staging. In German with English subtitles. Approximately 4.5hrs, including a 30 minute interval.
