Met Opera: Live In HD On March 10

The Bermuda Opera Team is set to showcase the Met: Live in HD [2022-23] & Encore series, with the next opera, Die Zauberflöte [Mozart], scheduled for March 10.

A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Opera Team is proud to present the Met: Live in HD [2022-23] & Encore series in Bermuda [on film]. Don’t miss your chance to see these world-class productions on the big screen in high definition quality.

“All operas on Sundays, at 5pm at BUEI, unless otherwise advised. All have English subtitles and are approximately 3-4 hours long, including a 30 minute interval.

“The next opera is Die Zauberflöte [Mozart] on Sunday 10 March 2024 at 5pm at BUEI.

“Nathalie Stutzmann conducts her second Mozart work this season with a new production of Die Zauberflöte. In his Met-debut staging, Simon McBurney incorporates projections, sound effects, and acrobatics to match the spectacle and drama of Mozart’s fable. The brilliant cast includes soprano Erin Morley as Pamina, tenor Lawrence Brownlee as Tamino, baritone Thomas Oliemans in his Met debut as Papageno, soprano Kathryn Lewek as the Queen of the Night, and bass Stephen Milling as Sarastro. In German with English subtitles: approx. 3.75hrs inc 30 minute interval.”

“The season finishes in 2024 with Eugene Onegin [Tchaikovsky] encore on Sunday, March 31.
