For its 60th anniversary, Keep Bermuda Beautiful [KBB] introduced a new logo and will also will host a series of public events throughout this year.

A spokesperson said, “Keep Bermuda Beautiful [KBB] is celebrating sixty years of service to the community. As one of the island’s oldest and most impactful environmental charities, KBB was established as a sub-committee of The Garden Club of Bermuda in 1964.

“In recognition of this milestone, KBB has refreshed its look with a colourful Bermuda-themed logo to reflect its work on land and sea, designed by Candice Dickinson. The charity will host a series of public events throughout this year in honour of its long history as a staple in the Bermuda community. The first of these 60th anniversary celebrations will be held on Sunday April 28 during the grand finale of the 2024 Great Big Bermuda Clean-Up [GBBC] sponsored by BF&M.

“Members of the public, KBB members past and present, schools, corporate partners and community organisations are invited to meet at Friendship Vale Park on Palmetto Road at 9am on Sunday April 28. The morning will start with community clean-ups at locations throughout Devonshire Parish.

“Clean-up activities will finish at 11am with a reception in the park. This family-friendly event will include entertainment, refreshments, KBB trivia and prizes, all free of charge. Go to www.KBB.bm for more details and links for volunteer registration.

“KBB’s mission is to engage individuals to take greater responsibility in reducing waste and eliminating litter through action and education. Over the past six decades, tens of thousands of KBB volunteers have removed over one million pounds of litter, illegal dumping and ocean pollution from Bermuda’s 21 square miles of land and 64 linear miles of coastline.

“The organisation has provided valuable environmental lessons to countless generations of students through its education programmes. KBB’s community outreach initiatives provide waste management education for Bermuda’s adult population. These are delivered through public awareness campaigns, special events and community engagement opportunities. The goal of KBB’s education framework is to inspire individuals to develop positive waste management habits that can last a lifetime.

“KBB thanks the community for continuing to support its vision for a cleaner, greener and more beautiful Bermuda for all. Visit www.KBB.bm or call 799-5142 to learn how you can get involved and make a difference.”
