Health Council Warning: Fake Social Media Posts
The Bermuda Health Council has issued a public advisory regarding social media posts “disseminating false information purportedly originating from our organization.”
A spokesperson said, “Bermuda Health Council is issuing a public advisory concerning recent social media posts disseminating false information purportedly originating from our organization.
“It has come to our attention that accounts not affiliated with Bermuda Health Council have been sharing misleading content on various social media platforms, falsely representing themselves as official channels of communication for our organization.
“It is important to note that the incident at hand does not stem from a breach in Health Council security or our IT systems. Rather, it pertains to the unauthorized use of our logo in a misleading manner.
Example of a false post:
“We wish to emphasize that any official communications or notices will only be disseminated through our verified social media handles or through official press releases distributed to local media outlets.
“We urge the public to exercise caution and refrain from engaging with any links associated with these unauthorized posts. Clicking on such links may lead to misinformation or potential security risks.
