Jessica Lewis Finishes Fourth In Japan
Jessica Lewis finished fourth in the T53 100 metres at the Para Athletics World Championships in Kobe, Japan, today [May 22].
Lewis, who needed a top-two finish to guarantee qualification for the Paralympics in Paris this summer, finished in 17.57sec.
Zou Hongzhuan, of China, won the race in 16.88, with her compatriot Gao Fang second in 16.91. Hamide Dogangun, of Turkey, placed third in 16.95.
Lewis returns to action tomorrow in the T53 400 at 7.15 am.
Should Lewis miss out on a top-two finish, she would still be well-positioned to reach Paris through the International Paralympic Committee [IPC] high-performance slots.
Just a set back Jessica. You can do this remember the desire
