Jessica Lewis Fourth In 400m In Japan

Jessica Lewis finished fourth the T53 400 metres at the Para Athletics World Championships in Kobe, Japan, today [May 23].

Lewis, who needed a top-two finish to guarantee qualification for the Paralympics in Paris this summer, finished in 1min 00sec 94sec.

Zou Hongzhuan, of China, won the race in 54.57, with her compatriot Gao Fang second in 55.78. Hamide Dogangun, of Turkey, placed third in 58.00.

Lewis remains well-positioned to reach Paris through the International Paralympic Committee [IPC] high-performance slots.
