LeiLanni Nesbeth Plays Part In Chicago Win
LeiLanni Nesbeth helped the Chicago Red Stars defeat Utah Royals 3-1 at home in the National Women’s Soccer League [NWSL] yesterday [May 12].
The Bermuda women’s national team midfielder started her second successive game for Chicago and was substituted late on.
Jenna Bike opened the scoring for Chicago in the 23rd minute before Mallory Swanson doubled their lead from the penalty spot on the half-hour mark.
Cameron Tucker pulled a goal back for the visiting side in the 81st minute before Penelope Hocking restored Chicago’s two-goal advantage deep into added time.
Nesbeth, 22, was selected in the tenth round by Chicago in the NWSL Draft in January.
Chicago, fifth in the table with 16 points from nine matches, are away to NJ/NY Gotham on Sunday [May 19].
